Running with Trader II
Updata Technical Analyst has been developed using the same technology as Updata Trader Professional II. The programs have been developed to be run together in three defined modes:
1. Technical Analyst and Trader side by side. This means that you can run the programs as two separate applications sharing the Updata data engine.
2. Techncial Analyst within Trader as well as Trader Analytics. This mode works by showing you a link to Technical Analyst charts within Updata Trader as an additional option to Trader Analytics in every place there is an Analytics menu. All the Technical Analyst tools become available, just like the standalone version every time you open a Technical Analyst chart.
3. Technical Analyst within Trader replacing your
Trader Analytics. This replaces your Trader
Analytics with the superior charting and tools of
Updata Technical Analyst.
If you are using Trader Professional and Technical Analyst, you can run any of these modes you wish, but we recommend you start using the systems as two separate applications first (option 1). Once you are used to using both of them separately you can then decide whether you wish to add Technical Analyst to your Trader Analytics or overwrite it.

User Manuals & Help
Updata Technical Analyst has been designed to be so user friendly that you shouldn’t need to wade through the manual. However, we recognise that some customers like to work their way step-by-step through the entire product. You might also prefer to dip into a printed explanation than an on-screen version. The manual for Updata Technical Analyst have been constructed with help from customers.
Comprehensive on-screen help is always close by with a Help system that is easy to navigate. You can also use this same environment online via the Updata Internet site.
Another addition in Technical Analyst is the introduction of intelligent Help Tips. Simply press Fl at any time wherever you are in the program and you will get a useful pointer in context to where you are.
Installation
Installation can be a tricky time, so we have taken the hard work out of setting up by producing an installation program that utilises the latest Windows installer technology. Step-by-step simple dialogs guide you through the whole process in a few minutes.
Upgrading to Technical Analyst from Indexia or Trader has been designed to be low risk to your existing system. All your existing data files and the live market data processing engines are backed up. You can even carry on using your DOS Indexia program if you so wish.
